In Europe, Indigo can be obtained from wood (Isatis tinctoria) and dyer''s knotweed (Polygonum tinctorum). The primary commercial indigo species in Asia is truly indigo(Indigofera tinctoria), a shrub found in Southeastern Asia. Its flowers range from red to purple.
